God’s blessings are lasting, with no harmful consequences, and always contain a non-material, spiritual component. The problem is that we can not always see at once any obvious or short-term benefits for us. Of course, God’s will is also to bless us. The goals revealed in His word are to increase our capacity to serve Him, to mature and perfect us so that we can serve His intentions to the maximum. When God directs us, His main purpose is not our comfort and direct benefits. The wisdom of the world originates from the self and is directed to the satisfaction of the self and the guarantee of its benefits. One of the main differences between heavenly and secular wisdom lies in the purpose. The second principle in the biblical decision-making model is knowing and acknowledging God’s purpose and goals. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” ( Proverbs 3:5-6) The Principle of Knowing and Acknowledging God’s Purpose When God is leading us there is always an unknown and risky component. By faith, we acknowledge our own limitations and choose to trust God’s wisdom. How to Make Godly Decisions – the Principle of Faith There is a need to include God and to exercise faith – that is, to decide not only according to what we see but also according to what we do not see and do not know. Therefore, especially when it comes to decisions with long-term consequences, common sense, combined with self-centered motives, is not the best basis for decision-making. When the own benefit is the main motivation, there is a big danger of being misguided and making a bad decision.The decisions based on the available facts are limited and subjective because of the limits of our understanding and knowledge.Things, people, and relationships change. Even if we have it, it reflects only the current state. We rarely have all the available information available.We apply common sense and logically come to a certain choice.
